I am an operations manager in London managing a high-performing compliance team responsible for carrying out background screenings on contractors we place, issuing contacts and ensuring they have all the relevant checks and documents in place to remain compliant.
I’m also responsible for keeping all policies and procedures updated with current legislation relative to the recruitment sector and overseeing the business operations across all entities. Reviewing terms of business and ensuring we have agreements in place with all clients we engage with are also core role responsibilities, and I work closely with sales teams on pulling PSL and RFI proposals and tenders together. I facilitate and coordinate all operational issues, providing appropriate support, advice, and guidance to all Eames employees.
I focus on maximising efficiency and support across the business and pride myself on being a point of contact to provide contract advice for contractors and consultants on payroll, timesheets, contracts and compliance processes, as well as knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation, including Right to Work, IR35 and AWR.
I joined Eames in 2014 as a business support administrator and feel very proud to have progressed my career to operations manager. I take great pride in the value we can offer the business, and seeing my team develop themselves, achieve promotions and continue to grow.
What does being an opportunity maker mean to you?
Taking accountability for your own success and supporting others to do the same. To have resilience and drive to succeed and develop your own skills by recognising your own specialist knowledge. Embracing change and connecting with those who have shared interests as well as those with different skills to ourselves, allowing everyone to develop their own knowledge and ideas.
What is it about recruitment that has kept you in the industry?
Working with different people, internally and externally. The role exposes you to all areas of the recruitment process, working with consultants, meeting candidates, and liaising with clients. Every day and every project we take on is different. Being so “people” focused means that each challenge and situation differs; no two candidates or clients are the same.
